434/4

For all those who thought the reign was over, this is the answer.
434/4

This was the “perfect game”, an exhibition of pure brilliance, an insurmountable score posted against the second best team in the world. I remember that Steve Waugh once said that his team could afford to think about cricket as an entertainment, They’ve done that.

Hats Off! Australian Cricket Team, The bar has been raised once again.

Morning Glory

"...Sun, Sun, Sun, Here it comes..."
George Harrison, "Here comes the Sun"

"When I was six years old, my mother told me not to stare at the sun…"
Max Cohen, "Pi"

"…so one day when I was six I did"
Max Cohen, "Pi"

"Daylight on my shoulder, Makes me feel alive..."
Rooster, "Staring at the Sun"

"I woke up as the sun was reddening; and that was the one distinct time in my life, the strangest moment of all, when I didn't know who I was-I was far away from home, haunted and tired..."
Jack Kerouac as Sal Paradise, "On The Road"

And when the wind gets under these wings
You will feel what freedom brings
Stay right by me, walk don't run
I don't want you flying too close to the sun

Alan Parsons Project, "Too Close To The Sun"

Thank God!

It was true once “Fewer have scored 300 than those have walked on the moon”
It was an illustrious group Sir Don, Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Len Hutton, Hanif Mohammed, Brian Lara...even the imperious Vivian Richards couldn't get in.

Sadly, these days the gates are open, any swinger can get in, Its Christmas all year, throughout the career for the batsmen.
Sehwag, Jaysurya, Chris Gayle ????????????
Betrayal! Treachery!
I bet even I can score one.

Yesterday I was afraid that “Gollodu” would desecrate the holiest record of all, the only batsmen to score 300 more than once, It is safe, at least until the next time.
Thank God!

Taxes

Hard earned funding entities I'd rather not see exist

Man I simply do not know why I have to pay any tax at all; I do not get anything for free in this country, Apart from the arcane basic services which are competent but minions to natural or unnatural events everything is expensive. The country is pretty much a “functioning anarchy” I fuel the balance by doing my part, paying taxes.

I especially dislike two aspects of where my money is going Scams and defense
I hate the politicians and big business which steal my money and defense because I do not believe that having a huge army results in peace, Lichtenstein a small European country has not been affected by war for the last 150 years because in 1868 the citizens voted to abolish the army, The US spends more on defense than any other nation and is no surprise that they have been involved in more wars in modern history than any other nation.

A major part of the money goes into military budget I read somewhere that India has the second largest military in the world after China, If we are a non-aligned, pacifist nation why do we need this army ? I don’t even want to go into the fact that by some Globalization norm the defense spending cannot be more that 2% of the GNP.

I do not believe in the abolishment of taxes; I do know that essential services are heavily subsidized to make them more affordable, But I would like to know where my tax is going or is buying for me, When I go out for dinner I would like to see the items I ate and prices next to them and not a ballpark figure of the meal.
